Happy first days of Fall! 🍁

Calgary has some pretty spectacular places to enjoy the changing leaves. Whether you’re looking for the perfect spot for family photos, or just want to get out for a walk in nature, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite places to watch the seasons change from summer to autumn.

A few of Calgary's Best Spots to enjoy Fall

🍁 Conferdation Park - 905 30 Ave. NW

The park follows Confederation Creek and has mature trees, gardens and winding pathways that get especially colourful in fall.

🍁 Glennfield - 14428 Bannister Rd. SE

One of the quieter Fish Creek spots, with wooded paths and plenty of colour, a great spot for a long walk into the trees.

🍁 Bowness Park - 18900 48 Ave. NW

The lagoon, bridges and mature trees make this one of the prettiest fall walks in the city. Bonus: you can grab a coffee and wander along the Bow River.

🍁 Sandy Beach - 1411 50 Ave. SW

Follow the Elbow River through one of Calgary’s most relaxed riverside parks. The mature trees and river views make it particularly good when the leaves turn.

🍁 McHugh Bluff - Crescent Rd. NW, around 1–4 St. NW

Come for the trees, stay for the view. The bluff overlooks the Bow River and downtown, with pathways running along the ridge

🍁 Princess Obelensky Park - 4 St. & 36 Ave. SW

A tiny park tucked inside the north end of Stanley Park in Parkhill. It was named after Princess Tania Obolensky and dedicated in her memory in 1984.

🍁 Fish Creek Provincial Park - 130 Ave SE & Mount McKenzie Drive SE

A local’s entrance to Fish Creek Park, with easy access to the trails and a great view across the full river valley. Head south toward the CP Rail bridge, or go north to explore the pedestrian bridges and pond areas throughout the park. Head north for a beautiful variety of trees to enjoy the fall foliage.
