Bel-Aire, Calgary was named after the neighbourhood in California, meaning "beautiful air," and was designed as an inner city oasis with direct access to the Glenmore Reservoir, the Calgary Golf and Country Club, and upscale shopping at Britannia Plaza.

Housing is exclusively large lot, single family estates. Inventory is rare, and when homes do come to market they tend to move quickly.
